Update from the Chairman: 28th June

Following the Government announcement of the easing of Covid-19 restrictions, I would like to advise members that it is currently our intention to re-open the club at 1pm on Saturday 4th July 2020.


As you will understand, there are a large number of alterations that we are working on to ensure we are Covid secure. We are currently devising a risk assessment using Government guidelines and any industry best practice that is available. The risk assessment includes areas such as:

  • Staff training

  • Signage

  • Hygiene

  • PPE

  • Walkways

  • Layouts

  • Ventilation

  • Social Distancing

  • Record keeping for track and trace purposes

  • Placing and paying for orders

  • Reduced capacity

  • Volume limits on tv sports and music

We will circulate further information before we re-open, but we are working towards the following:

  • Only members allowed with a maximum of one non-member guest per member. It will take 24 hours for new members to become active on the system. Therefore, if you intend to visit on Saturday, please ensure you have renewed your membership by Friday lunchtime by visiting our website: https://www.edgworthcc.co.uk/support-us If you still require assistance in becoming a member, please contact the club on 01204 853374

  • We will not be taking bookings for tables.

  • Some external seating will be available within a cordoned off area.

  • There will be a signing in process. When we are at capacity we envisage we will be operating an outdoor bottle bar for members whilst they wait, providing social distancing is maintained.

  • The club will be appointing a covid-19 officer and either the bar manager or his deputy will be on-site at all times, with specific responsibilities.

  • Members will be asked to leave the premises if they are not conforming to the advice.

  • Table service only - including external tables within the designated area.


Payment and ordering via a phone app will be the preferred method where possible. This is still being developed. Verbal ordering will still be available from the servers at your table. Alternatively, it would be very helpful if members could pre-charge their membership cards with money.Further details will be provided prior to the re-opening and instructions will also be on display.


We will temporarily be offering a reduced product range for stock control purposes in the event of a further lockdown being imposed:


Draught Lager: San Miguel, Carlsberg Pilsner Cider: Somersby Bitter: Boxer Blonde, Wainwright Wines Red: Malbec, Shiraz White: Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay Rose: White Zinfandel Prosecco Bottles Lager: Budweiser, Sol Cider: Magners, Kopparberg Strawberry & Lime Alcopop: Blue WKD Usual range of soft drinks and most spirits will be available.
