ECRC Junior Progression.jpg

The club has heavily invested in improving our facilities for players and the local community. We have new changing rooms upstairs with a viewing balcony for players, a new two lane outdoor net practise facility, and a new electronic scoreboard.

This Summer we have 4 senior teams playing competitive cricket on Saturdays and Sundays. Our T20 'Edgworth Fury' side play matches on Friday nights which draw huge crowds to support the team.

We are proud to have hosted the GMCL vs MCC fixture in 2019, which was a huge success in raising the profile of the club. Lancashire junior teams have also been a regular feature on the ground for practice sessions. Getting to host these matches is a testament to all the hard work our ground-staff put in which make ECRC a fantastic venue for cricket matches- thanks to Mike Davies, Gordon Childs, Wayne Birtwistle & Nigel Truswell for your efforts.

The development of junior cricket has been very much at the forefront of everyone involved  at the club with parents, coaches, and the kids driving this forward. Teams from all age groups have been fielded from All Stars, U9's through to U18's. We regularly see 80+ boys and girls of all ages attending Friday night practise.

Junior Coaching

As you can see from the gallery above, we have fantastic facilities which aid the development of our junior players. We are seeing increasing an increasing number of juniors representing our 4 senior teams year on year. The club have strong links to Lancashire CCC who have occasionally used our ground for their junior matches and practice sessions over the past few years.

Junior coaching in the Summer is on Friday nights from 6pm. The club has many ECB Level 2 qualified coaches who run the sessions and it's a great way for your child to learn new skills, develop their cricket ability, and to make new friends! We have 7 junior sides which are run by dedicated team managers, playing against local clubs in the GMCL. Our U15 and U17 teams also train with the senior squad on Tuesday nights.

All Stars cricket has been very successful for the club. In 2019 we had one of the highest number of children taking part in Lancashire. If you have a child aged 5 to 8, you can book onto the All Stars programme here. *Course is full*

This year we are taking part in the "Dynamos" course for the first time, which is designed as the next step after All Stars for children aged 8 to 11. In conjunction with this new programme, the sessions are for girls only with a view to forming an all girls team. Click here to book for the girls Dynamos!
