Job Title: Site Manager

Line Manager: Bar Manager

Hours: Permanent, Full Time hours to suit both the club/management committee and the post holder

Rate: £13 - £15 per hour depending on experience

​

Start Date: Q1 2025

​

Closing Date for Submissions: Monday 9th December, Noon

​

Overall purpose of role:

To manage and maintain the premises and grounds of the Cricket Club, to ensure that they are clean, secure, safe and well maintained.

​

Main duties:

  • Undertaking minor repairs to fixtures and fittings

  • Regular cleaning/jet washing/maintenance of all external furniture, decking, balustrade, indoor nets area etc

  • Ensuring the outside areas are clean and tidy

  • Periodic sanding/painting/varnishing of internal and external areas

  • Maintenance/watering of flowerbeds & hanging baskets

  • Purchasing and maintenance of all signage

  • Grounds maintenance (excluding the playing field – unless upon occasional request to assist the grounds team) including the perimeter, children’s playground, car park etc

  • Sweeping/salting and keeping clear footpaths, drains, gutters and car parks

  • Litter collection around the ground

  • Liaise with external refuse collection to minimise costs/maximise service with regard to seasonality and cleanliness

  • Undertake regular audits of third-party caterers utilising the facilities

  • Organise and liaise with contractors including pest control, plumbers, joiners, electricians, builders, tree surgeons etc where necessary

  • Respond to emergency calls from the third party security monitoring company

  • Attend periodic meetings with the Committee, or sub-committee, and contribute continuous improvement ideas

  • Maintain a harmonious relationship with the Trustees of The Barlow by working in collaboration

  • Develop and manage, in a fair manner, a booking facility for the indoor nets facility

  • Any other similar duties that may arise

Health & Safety

  • Taking reasonable care of own health and safety and that of others

  • Co-operate on all issues involving health and safety

  • Use the appropriate work equipment provided, in accordance with training and instructions

  • Carry out risk assessments

  • Maintain appropriate record keeping

  • Ensure all equipment is maintained effectively, in line with statutory requirements

  • Reporting any health and safety concerns to the Manager/Committee as soon as possible

  • Ensuring all tasks are completed in a safe manner

  • Any other duties that may be required

​

This role requires significant periods of lone working and as such, the postholder will need to display a high degree of responsibility and professionalism in their work. The ability to use own initiative is essential

​

Safeguarding:

All staff have a responsibility to ensure that all Safeguarding Policies are adhered to, at all times and that concerns are raised.

​

Essential Required Skills:

  • It is vital that the post holder can operate on their own initiative, whilst working as part of a team

  • Experience of building/maintenance works

​

Desirable Required Skills:

  • A passion and an understanding of cricket and local cricket clubs

​

Post holders will be expected to be flexible in undertaking duties and responsibilities attached to the post and may be asked to perform duties which reasonably correspond to the general character of the post and are commensurate with its level of responsibility.
