Edgworth Walking Football Club held a charity football match on the 26th October. We invited teams from Bury, Bolton, Salford and Wythenshawe to compete for the Vital Energi Cup. After over two hours football in damp, cold conditions Wythenshawe came out as narrow winners of what we are hoping will be an annual event.

As well as the entry fee we sold raffle tickets and a name card which resulted in the club raising £1200 pounds for charity. After discussion we decided to gift £250 to Bolton Hospice, £300 to the girl's junior cricket team and £650 to the memory club which is based at the Barlow Centre.

We would like to thank all participants, on the day helpers, Jazz at the Barlow for warming up the after-game pasties, and Dan for looking after us amazingly on the day. The biggest thank you goes to Joe at Vital Energi for recognising what our club is all about and supporting us over the last few months.

After setting up the group from nothing in January 2025 we have grown into a club with over 35 regular members, we are raising money for local charity and groups, and more over we are keeping fit, creating friendships and having fun.

Thank you to all involved.

Paul Brettell

Chairman.
