We cannot wait to see you all again! The way we have to operate is very different from 'normal times'- please read all the details below so you have a good idea what to expect. 


On a Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, you must be a member or a member's guest to sit in our beer garden.

Opening Times:

Monday: 1pm to 10pm (will usually be 4pm to 10pm)

Tuesday - Friday: 4pm to 10pm

Saturday - Sunday: 12.30pm to 10pm

What are the new rules?

From April 12th, we are allowed to open outside areas only. Six people can sit together from different households, or a total of two households (if more than 6 people). Once seated, you must stay seated at your table unless going to the toilet or leaving. Table service will be in operation. You are only allowed inside the club to use the toilets, with a one-way system in place.

On entry, you must provide your details for Track & Trace.

How will we operate?

Our table service area will be fenced off, and consist of:

  • 6 tables on the grass under the marquee

  • 5 tables on the decking

  • 4 pods on the new decking

  • 4 tables on the new decking

All drinks are in plastic glasses, with last orders just before 10pm to conform with our license conditions. Most of the tables will be available to members and their guests only (remember new memberships take 48 hours to process!)

Please be patient when waiting for your ordered drinks!

We will have a take-away service for non-members, and for members once all the tables are full. In line with GMCL rules, visiting members from other cricket clubs will be classed as members for the day of their away match against ECRC.

Are we under cover if it's raining?
The pods are covered by a canopy and the awnings can come out to cover most of the tables on the old decking. The tables on the grass will be covered by our marquee.

Unfortunately we cannot place tables under our veranda as it is not classed as "outside space."

Do I have to reserve a table?

No, but a small number of our tables can be pre-booked by members for groups of 4 or more. If there are more than 6 people in your booking, you must not be from more than two households! If the "rule of 6" is not followed, you will be turned away.

Please email with the following info:

  1. Number of guests

  2. Date of booking

  3. Desired times (from and to)

  4. Contact phone number

We will reply to enquiries within 48 hours, please remember that bookings are only confirmed when we reply! Bookings cannot be made less than 24 hours in advance.

A £10 deposit will be required for your booking, which will be knocked off the drinks bill. Details of how to pay this will be sent to you after your booking enquiry.

If the tables are booked up, don't forget that a majority of our tables are "first come first serve"!

Will the club be open seven days a week as usual?
The club will be opening up at the usual time, 7 days a week, however we be closing at 10pm. After a couple of weeks we will review our opening days & hours to make sure they are appropiate.

Will the club be showing sporting events?
No- whilst we are not allowed customers indoors, our sky and BT subscriptions will remain suspended.

What COVID measures are in place?
Staff will be wearing masks and will regularly and thoroughly wash or sanitise their hands. Hand sanitiser will be available at the entrance & exit to the table service area, and in the toilets. A one-way system will be in place for those entering the club to use the toilets. Tables will be sanitized when groups leave. Contact points will be regularly sanitised.

How will the club collect information for NHS Track and Trace?
New Track & Trace requirements mean that everyone attending the club will need to ensure their details have been captured (unless for take-away service). To conform with the new requirements, refusal to provide your contact details will mean we have no choice but to turn you away. We recommend downloaded the NHS Covid app so you can scan our QR code, but we will also have written forms. The forms will be securely destroyed after 21 days. Customers’ details will not be stored electronically or shared with any third party, except NHS Test and Trace, if it requests them within the 21-day retention period. By providing your details, you are consenting to their release by ECRC to NHS Test and Trace. Your data protection rights will apply.
