Edgworth C.C. are delighted to announce the signing, subject to a successful Visa application, of Sri Lankan professional Asela Jayasinghe from Colombo. "A.J." played for Blackrod last season and made a huge impression in the short amount of time he was at the club. An aggressive left-handed batsman and a versatile bowler who can bowl either medium pace or leg-spin, we look forward to welcoming A.J. to the club in April.
The Club have also signed, subject to a successful Sports' Visa application, Brett Ernst, the captain and club coach at Mordialloc Cricket Club near Melbourne, Australia. Brett is a prominent batsman and off-break bowler, and we hope that he will have a positive influence on the club both on and off the pitch.
We hope that these two players will help the club back to the summit of the Bolton Association, as well as helping the progress of the many talented young players at the club.
