Peter Walters, Age 21, Left Hand
Batsman, Left Arm Orthodox After trying and
failing to acquire Peter’s services last season, we are
delighted that he has decided to join us in 2009. Peter
had been a key component of Prestwich’s team – double
winners in 2007 – for several years, and was leading
run-scorer at the club in 2008. He is a technically
sound left handed batsman who can hit the ball
prodigiously once he is in, and he is sure to add a
mixture of style and steel to the middle order. His
bowling was underused somewhat at his previous club –
owing to a combination of a spin-bowling pro and a
seamer-friendly wicket; however, he is capable of turn,
flight and bounce with his slow left arm bowling, and we
have great hopes that he will relish the added
responsibility he will have with the ball this year.
Peter was a regular in the Lancashire County
Inter-League team, and ought to feature heavily in the
Bolton Association side as well.
