| Guy has only been at the club
for two seasons, but has proved himself to be a very
reliable middle order batsman. Although he is naturally
a free-scoring, aggressive player, he seems to be at his
best digging his side out of trouble. He is, however,
also a very reliable source of run-outs, especially when
batting with Nick Kernick. Was the First Team’s leading
run-scorer last year, and is consistently good for
500-600 runs a year. Bowls occasional off-breaks with
some success, proving very adept at breaking
partnerships, and has an excellent pair of hands in the
field. Best moments:
Wonder catch to dismiss Raina at A&T: a 40 yard sprint
followed by a full stretch dive at full tilt, grabbing
the ball inches off the ground at long-on. Destruction
of the Darcy Lever batting, taking 6-42, and achieving
some exaggerated turn and bounce.
Worst moments: Slipping on
a damp Blackrod pitch while on 49, and being run out.
This cost Adam Syddall, who had bet Lockie £20 that Guy
would reach 50. Much mirth ensued. Hitting Liam in the
eye with the first ball of a spell against Clifton.
Liam went off injured, Guy went to pieces and bowled
terribly, and Clifton won a close game.
