Chris has performed very well in
his first full season with the firsts. Taking the new
ball, he has acquired a reputation for getting
opposition pros out. Bowling at good pace, he was able
to provide a good foil for Adam and managed to achieve
some success himself. He will be disappointed not to
have had a chance to bowl at tail-enders very often, but
his time will come. Chris will always provide
willingness and athleticism in the field, and it is
testament to the depth of batting in the team that he
has been marooned at 10 and 11 all season. In most
other teams, he would deserve to be much higher, as his
late-order flourish against Walshaw would bear out.
Great things are expected next season.
Best moments: The over
leading to the dismissal of Bundela, the league’s best
batsman, at Darcy Lever. Beat him a couple of times
outside off-stump and then found the edge, setting the
foundation for an unexpected Edgworth win.
Worst moments: Dropping
Pemberton off Guy Haynes at Edgworth against Elton.
Usually a safe pair of hands, he ceded the initiative to
Elton who won the game narrowly.
