| Chris will have enjoyed his last
year as captain, seeing the team break into the top half
of the table, but it was to be a frustrating time as a
player, injury meaning he was unable to bowl regularly
since May. When fully fit, Chris remains among the best
5 amateur bowlers in the league, and is capable of
swinging the ball very late. A fit Chris Locke would be
a huge bonus to the first team next year. The most
competitive of competitors, Chris’ wholehearted fielding
defies the ageing process, and he is also capable of
some big hitting at the bottom of the order; but not, it
appears, at the top. Best
moments: As a player, his bowling against Adlington
and Lostock early in the season was magnificent. He
took over 20 wickets in around a month, before injury
took over. As a captain, his performance against Spring
View at home was excellent. Very few are capable of
frustrating out Ari Sarkar after two hours, but Chris
did, Edgworth going on to win a cliff-hanger.
Worst moments:
Any time that he decided he would open the batting. Two
attempts, no runs. Had difficulty at the time
convincing us he was a natural opener; would be
impossible to any more
